Our Story

Diamond and Daisy Project main mission is to be a voice for the voiceless and save shelter dogs that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. Through multiple projects we are bringing awareness and facilitating solutions to the nationwide crisis of canine overpopulation, and the dire need for adopters and fosters who can provide safe loving homes.

DIAMOND AND DAISY PROJECT is dedicated to giving every dog a second chance at life. We believe in the transformative power of love and care, and we strive to spotlight the importance of adopting and rescuing over buying. Every dog deserves a loving home, and together we can make that dream a reality.

Meet Our Team

  • Miss Candice

    FOUNDER

Miss Candice is a Midwestern gal who has spent a lot of time volunteering at shelters and witnessed the crisis of compassion firsthand. She saw multitudes of perfect dogs of every breed put down due to space constraints, and not enough homes. Many of her friends and people she spoke to were unaware of how serious the problem really was. She found it hard to believe that so many perfect dogs were unable to find homes, and knew she had to do something more for the tens of thousands of suffering canines across the country. In 2020 Miss Candice envisioned a plan to save as many as of these dogs as possible. She is a woman whose passion for our furry friends empowers others to see all the joy they can bring to a home and a heart. Her story guides us to realize the best way to support this mission is to be the change and ADOPT.

  • Miss Diamond

    FOUNDER

Miss Diamond was abandoned at five years old to a no-kill shelter in 2016 outside of Chicago by the only family she had ever known that decided they no longer wanted her. For six long months Miss Diamond cried day and night in her kennel until she was finally spotted by Miss Candice where it was love at first sight. Miss Diamond is now 12 years old and has never left Miss Candice's side. She loves car rides, sunbathing, and frozen blueberry treats but her favorite past-time is snuggling with mama.

  • Miss Daisy

    FOUNDER

Miss Daisy was abandoned multiple times to the Maricopa County Shelter by several owners over the course of nine years. She was completely broken and shut down, and due to years of neglect her body showed significant medical needs. Her age, multiple surrenders, and declining health landed her on the euthanasia list. Miss Candice knew she had to save this broken soul and show her the love she so desperately needed. Upon arrival at the shelter the next morning Miss Daisy had already been tked to the euthanasia room and minutes away from death. There was a fight for her life, abut Miss Daisy was eventually rescued and went home to live with Miss Candice that morning. She is now 11 years old and thriving. Miss Daisy loves playing ball, jumping on sprinklers, and absolutely craves to be touched. Even though humans have failed Miss Daisy over and over, she still shows an incredible amount of love, loyalty, and gratitude. She is an extremely smart dog who knows exactly what she was saved from and is now living her best life.
